It’s easy to fall in love with this beautifully appointed eatery, that bestows its own unique warmth & intimacy upon those in search of a romantic repast. Chef-owner Nelson Yip’s outstanding cuisine, is every bit the equal, of the posh ambiance. His appetizers & entree dishes are positively ethereal & his desserts are prepared to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. For my money, however, his true talent lies in the fish province. His daily offerings, of fresh finny fare are simply incomparable. AOZORA, which means "Blue Sky," in Japanese, translates into style, casual elegance, luxurious appointments & delicious cuisine & takes one on a culinary adventure, to new cuisine heights of visual beauty, as it pulsates with the rhythm & energy of Japan. For over 10 years, Nelson, Sophia, head waiter Byron Geronimo & a superb dining team have been serving up Japanese & ‘beyond’. I loved the chic dining room, the large windows, that observe Montclair’s local color, the nicely spaced tables & comfy booths & the pleasing lighting, inviting you to linger, indulge in good conversation & an oasis of original & inspired cookery.
